Do you want to have a stress free experience?
The real question to ask yourself is ‘do I really want to relax and enjoy my party’? There are so many moving parts to an event that it can be completely overwhelming for even the most organized and Type A people. Most couples don’t realize that wedding planning is a big undertaking – and one you might not actually have the time for. Until someone plans a wedding, they don’t have any idea how much work and time it takes.
Pros know and see the glitches coming, you won’t.
Hiring a professional is a time and money saving move that you will not regret. There a so many moving parts to a wedding and an experienced planner who knows the ropes is going to keep everything on track before and during your event. There’s no surprise they cannot handle.
Go to vendors.
Most planners have ‘go-to’ vendors who they know and trust and they understand fair pricing parameters for each vendor…while you’re likely mostly in the dark about this. The cost of a planner could easily be offset by the money you’ll save by going with their known and trusted contacts.
Day or or full service?
By the way, the difference between a wedding coordinator and a planner is that a coordinator helps the to-be-weds two months or less before the wedding day, while a planner usually assists the couple throughout the entire planning process.
I’m highly organized – I can do this!
Can you do this yourself? Absolutely, but do you have the time? And do you want to have to learn how to produce a seamless event with the added stress of managing all the moving parts? There are things you just don’t know to look for or expect. And on the day of your event, do you want to be fielding questions and/or issues that may pop up? A wedding professional will anticipate all the potential snafus well ahead of time and if anything does go sideways in the days before or on your big day, they know exactly how to fix it – and fast.
Hire a pro and enjoy your own event!
We do find that most couples have some sort of wedding planner or coordinator, and the level of service aligns with what the wedding budget allows. If your venue has an in-house planner that will work with you from start to finish (including being at your event on the day of to execute the plans you’ve made together) then you should be well taken care of.
